TOUR PROGRAM:
The tour begins with pick-up from your hotel in Yerevan by our professional guide and driver.
Our first stop is Echmiadzin, considered the holy city of Armenia. Here, we visit Echmiadzin Cathedral, the spiritual center of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the residence of the Catholicos, the spiritual leader of all Armenians.
We then explore some of the most remarkable examples of early Armenian Christian architecture: Saint Gayane Church, Saint Hripsime Church, and Saint Shoghakat Church.
(Please note: Echmiadzin Cathedral is currently under restoration.)
The tour continues to the Sardarapat Memorial Complex, built of red tuff stone and dedicated to the 1918 Battle of Sardarapat. The monument stands as one of the most significant symbols of the Armenian people’s struggle for independence.
On our way back to Yerevan, we visit the Zvartnots Cathedral Ruins, once considered one of the most magnificent cathedrals in the world before being destroyed by an earthquake in 930 AD.
Both Zvartnots and Echmiadzin are included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
At the end of the tour, guests are transferred back to their hotels in Yerevan.
Upon arrival at the hotel, our full-day tour concludes.
