Lake Sevan – Hayravank – Noraduz – Sevanavank Full-Day Tour
(With Private Vehicle and Professional Guide)
This exclusive full-day tour explores the surroundings of Lake Sevan, one of Armenia’s most breathtaking natural treasures. Departing from Yerevan, the program offers the opportunity to discover panoramic lake views, historic monasteries, and some of the finest examples of Armenian stone craftsmanship.
TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:
📍 Lake Sevan
📍 Hayravank Monastery
📍 Noraduz Khachkar Cemetery
📍 Sevanavank Monastery
TOUR PROGRAM:
The tour begins with pick-up from your hotel in Yerevan by our professional guide and driver, followed by a scenic drive toward Lake Sevan.
Often referred to as the “Jewel of Armenia” and also known as the “Geghama Sea,” ancient Lake Sevan is one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the world. Its shoreline presents a spectacular landscape of dense forests, white and rugged cliffs, mountain steppes, and alpine meadows.
Our first stop is Hayravank Monastery, located on the shores of the lake. Here, guests will enjoy free time accompanied by panoramic views of Lake Sevan.
We then proceed to Noraduz Village, one of the most important centers of Armenian stone art. The Noraduz Khachkar Cemetery is home to approximately 900 khachkars (Armenian cross-stones) from different historical periods and artistic styles, making it a remarkable open-air museum of medieval Armenian craftsmanship.
The tour continues to Sevanavank Monastery, built of black tuff stone and therefore often called the “Black Monastery.” The complex consists of the Surb Arakelots and Surb Karapet churches and is surrounded by numerous khachkars. Today, these two dark stone churches stand like guardians overlooking Lake Sevan. The panoramic views from here are truly spectacular, with snow-capped peaks encircling the lake and fading into the horizon.
After completing the program, we return to Yerevan and transfer our guests back to their hotels.
Upon arrival at the hotel, our full-day tour concludes.
