Throughout this wonderful tour, you'll experience the magic of nature and begin to discover the unique beauties of Georgia. As we travel towards the city center with your guide, you'll start to explore this region where history and nature intertwine.
Along the route, after seeing the bust named Enlightenment Road of St. Andrew, we proceed towards the Gonio region. Passing through Gonio, we see Gonio (Apsaros) Fortress on our right side. After seeing this fortress, where St. Matthias, one of the 12 apostles of Jesus, was killed by the locals, we continue our journey through the route lined with eucalyptus trees. Further along the route, on the left side, we see the shooting range used during the Soviet era. Then, we cross over the Çoruh (Chorokhi) River, which originates from Bayburt, and make our first entrance into the city center. Along the road, we enter the boulevard road, passing by Batumi Airport bearing the signature of Turkish contractors and its communication tower resembling a princess's skirt. As we progress along the boulevard road, we notice investments made in tourism on our left side, and we continue our route, seeing Collosseum Hotel and Senate Restaurant (upside-down house), and the interesting upside-down milk bottle-shaped architecture of Batumi Courthouse on our right side. Passing through the city center, on our right side, we see the Dolphinarium where dolphin shows are held, and right next to it, we see Nurigeli Lake, one of Batumi's two large artificial lakes. Just ahead, on our left side, we see Shota Rustaveli State University and its campus, named after the famous Georgian medieval poet. As we approach the city center, we see the panoramic view of the house where the famous Russian writers Anton Chekhov and Maxim Gorky lived for 15 years, which now serves as the Bern restaurant, and we arrive at our restaurant where we will have lunch.
After lunch, our first stop is Batumi Valide Sultan Mosque, built in 1866 and notable for its wooden interior. Then, we visit the Piazza Square reminiscent of European city squares and the St. Nicholas Church located in the square. At the Europe Square, we see important symbols such as the statue of Georgian politician Memed Abashidze and the Batumi astronomical clock, which was used as the old central bank.
Among the notable and modern works reflecting the city's modern texture are the Medea Statue completed in 2007, the Adjara Autonomous Republic Administration Building, and the Poseidon Statue. Throughout our tour, we listen to the tragic stories of the city at Theatre Square and visit interesting structures such as the specially designed wedding hall on Old Batumi Boulevard and the Alphabetic Tower.
Experiencing the romantic atmosphere of the city, we see the historic lighthouse and the Ali and Nino statue in Miracle Park. Afterwards, we provide free time by the seaside for tea, coffee, and shopping.
